One organization in Japan is finding new ways to explicate regulations roofing illegal activities in the blockchain gaming community.

The Blockchain Contents Association (BCA) announced on March 24 that they had written new guidelines to bargain with laws related to gambling and online scams. A Japanese cocky-regulatory organization established in Feb 2022, the BCA intends to promote customer protection for any blockchain-based content, including gaming and social media.

Avoiding violating Japanese law on the blockchain

Though many cities in Japan have explored establishing casinos, under local law gambling online and in person is yet illegal in nearly situations. The Tokyo-based clan'southward guidelines are its first effort to assist blockchain gaming developers avert any indiscretions.

The guidelines besides address local laws roofing Nihon's gaming industry, including the Law for Preventing Unjustifiable Extra or Unexpected Benefit and Misleading Representation, the Payment Services Human action, and the Financial Instruments and Commutation Act.

I of the goals is to make it articulate to blockchain gaming developers what exactly is classified as gambling according to Japanese law. For example, if not-fungible tokens are offered like "gacha" — a game based on slot machines that uses virtual currency  — the association recommends fugitive them. Such rewards are more than likely illegal.

Playing blockchain games with peace of heed

Hironao Kunimitsu, president of the BCA and founder of gumi, gave his thoughts on the association's actions:

"Through the new guidelines, nosotros aim to help our users use content with peace of mind and contribute to the healthy evolution of the blockchain contents industry in Nihon."

The association has stipulated there will exist a "minimum number of requirements" with which their members need to comply, which may also be updated in the future. The move is a skillful beginning step in the event blockchain gaming becomes mainstream.

Ten companies make up the founding members of the association, including Hakuhodo, advertisers, public relations firms, gumi, Startbahn, and double jump.tokyo — the developer of My Crypto Heroes.
