Writing With Both Hands At The Same Time
We have always been taught to use our right hand for our daily activities, right? Lefties (people who use left hand) have been persecuted for their disposition in the past, being labeled as evil, or even as witches, despite making up about 10 percent of the population.
Now you will think, what's new in that?
If we talk about writing, you must have noticed there are people who write with their left hand and they are pretty good at it! Interestingly, the non-dominant hand gives a fantastic result of their handwriting. But the bizarre thing is, there are geniuses around the world who can write using both hands together.
Yes, and such people exist in a place called Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh, India. Students of Veena Vadini School have this ambidextrous skill of using both hands with equal power for writing in their school notebook.
Veeru Sahastra Buddhe's ambidextrous skill in 3 Idiots
A still from 3 Idiots, in which Veeru Sahastra Buddhe writes two different letter using his both hands at the same time.
Reading this, the first thought that will come to our mind is Veeru Sahastra Buddhe, the 'antagonist' in 3 Idiots, played by Boman Irani who uses this skill to write the letter to the parents of two other lead characters, Raju and Farhan.
Both hands for six different languages
- This is India's one and only 'ambidextrous' school, which has more than 150 students who write using both hands together at the same time
- These students have a high speed of writing with both hands and another fascinating thing about this story is they can write in six different languages like Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic, and Roman

B.P. Sharma, the teacher and principal of the school, is an ex-army man who got inspired by the same skill of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India.
Here's how he teaches his students:
- Whenever a new child comes in, he or she holds the pen with one hand, and they are taught to use their other hand after a month. After that, the students are taught to use both the hands together
- In 45 minutes of class, every student practices the subject for 15 minutes writing with both hands
What does this skill indicate?
- The skill of ambidexterity indicates that the left and right sides of that person's brain are pretty much symmetrical
- Only 1 per cent of the total population is ambidextrous according to an article published in Reader's Digest
Famous personalities with ambidextrous skills
Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Leonardo da Vinci, Ben Franklin, and Albert Einstein are some of history's most famous personalities who share the same skill as that of these students in India.
